Presentation and discussion with director Sally Angel, led by Bruno D'Udine
Animate Earth, the documentary film by Sally Angel, delves into the fascinating system of biogeological relationships present on our planet. Through the vision of deep ecology, in the search for an intimate contact with the environment, not only through mathematics and science, but also and predominantly through intuition and direct experience, Stephan Harding, renowned ecologist, co-founder of the Schumacher College and colleague of James Lovelock, leads us to the discovery of the most hidden and complex mechanisms that determine Earth's capacity for self- regulation. The film provides an overview of the evolution of scientific thinking, from ancient Greeks to the Enlightenment, and explores the roots and inspiration for today's holistic scientific thought. The main aim is to find a new and a deeper sharing of the need to interact with the environment from within, an essential step towards finding a solution to the environmental crisis.
