Monografie Escop. Le basi scientifiche dei Prodotti Fitoterapici

Andrea Lugli

Monografie Escop 250

The ESCOP Monographs (European Scientific Cooperative on Phytotherapy) are a crucial and reliable source of information, very commonly consulted and requested by scholars and people involved in the subject. Aboca Edizioni offers a boxed set containing the ESCOP Monographs as well as the Compendium curated by Andrea Luigi, which makes the work even more precious, with its index of plants according to need.

The ESCOP Monographs are the result of 14 years of work by ESCOP's Scientific Committee, starting with its first meeting, which took place in 1989. Overall, the book represents the work of about 50 delegates of the committee, coming from 15 European countries, with the contribution of about 30 experts in particular subjects and the members of ESCOP's Board of Supervising Editors, a group of prestigious phytotherapy scholars.
The monographs are firmly grounded on scientific literature and include references to journals/books in the original language of publication. The text of the book contains about 5,000 full quotes. The Compendium is an integral part of the Monographs and contains many tools (indexes, tables) to make the text easier to consult and use.

Overall, the Monographs and the Compendium are an important operational tool for everyday practice and provide useful information to guide readers through the complex evolution of the medicinal plants scenario.

Andrea Lugli has a degree in Phytotherapy (Phytotherapy-Herbal Medicine) by the College of Phytotherapy (UK) and a degree in Industrial Chemistry by the University of Bologna.
A member of the College of Practitioner of Phytotherapy, he has been studying medicinal plants for over ten years and gives training courses and CME to physicians, pharmacists and herbalists.
He is a professor at the II level International Master's Degree in Phytotherapy at the University of Cagliari-Madrid.
