Calendar of the balsamic time

The balsamic time is the period in which a plant contains the greatest quantity of active principles, in other words, the substances necessary for healing purposes.
Each species of plant has a balsamic time, during which there is greater production and a higher concentration of active substances in the different parts of the plant.
In ancient times the moment plants were gathered was based on experience and traditions that were handed down orally or codified in texts on medical botany. Propitiatory rituals related to the activity of the plant were often carried out at the time of gathering, which would include the recital of prayers.
As plants were attributed with a spirit, called psyke, it was believed that this could be influenced by external elements such as man, the seasons or the stars.
