Advice for the gathering of horehound

Gathering mandrake
To gather mandrake, dig around the plant, then take a piece of string, tie one end to the root of the plant and the other to a dog. Then call the dog so that as it comes to you it pulls the root away. Be sure to do this on the night of the full moon and be sure to plug your ears so that you do not hear the piercing cry that the plant will make when it is pulled up.
