The History Room

The door next to the window leads into the small room where the herbals are displayed. These books represent the sum of botanical and medicinal knowledge of the past.

Here the visitor will become acquainted with the more specific aspects of the Museum: the medicinal herbs placed in their historical dimension and the panels in the room which are the guide in this travel through time. The volumes selected are the most significant amongst those owned by the “Bibliotheca Antiqua”, an integral part of the Museum and the vital force of this institution. In the side cabinets herbals and anthologies with their original calcographic and lithographic coloured illustrations can also be admired.
