MORANDI Giovanni Battista - Italy - XVIII secolo

MORANDI Giovanni Battista Morandi lived in the 18th century in Milan. Botanical Interests: This classic 18th-century herbal has 70 illustrated pages teeming with plants. In this era, botanical knowledge is already advanced and the author dwells on the minutiae of details. His prints are particularly effective: the author himself drew from life and engraved on copper with great skill. He also provided the annotations on the use of the herbs.

Main work: Historia botanica practica seu plantarum, apud Joseph Galeatium, Milano, 1761.
